It’s Friday!
I’ve pulled together five favorite things to give you some weekend (and beyond) inspiration. This week I finally said adios to my remaining crutch and found myself back in the kitchen, creating. I’m also getting super excited about summer coming. This week my daughter heads back off to school (working for the summer) and man, I’m going to miss her.

Friday Fab Five • 01
1. Color
I stumbled on three new colors I’m falling in love with. They are gel-based colors which are perfect for any baker and I can’t wait to play with them. I wanted to make soft colors for a wedding and I loved the perfect peach, (inspired by the Southwest), and a complimentary navy with a twist. To round it off, I made a perfect pink to bring in the early summer vibes.

2. Home Inspiration
With all the time I’ve been spending in bed lately, I want to tell you about my three favorite things to have on a nightstand. One is a small dish for my jewelry and small items, like these here. Another is a candle, and I’m in love with anything that smells like spring imagine mandarian orange blossoms. I also love the look of flowers, so have a beautiful cellar bottle vase with forever fresh flowers.

3. Media
As you know, I’ve had some downtime lately (hello hip surgery) so my three best time-killers this week are:
Book–Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delilah Owens. This book is a great character study of the heroine, with enough twists and turns to keep you reading until the last page.
Podcast–Sharon Says So. Sharon gives a great insight to our great country and how it works, but is apolitical.
A League of Their Own, starring Tom Hanks. One of my favorite movies just became available on Amazon Prime. I could watch it a million times and it still not be enough. Girls! Playing baseball! Yes, please!

4. In the Kitchen
Am I the only one who likes to cook on the weekend? Maybe? Here are my top picks for any type of eaters. Lets start with breakfast, this easy to put together breakfast casserole is popular in our house. We have a crazy weekend: my parents are here, my daughter has dance recital, and the other daughter is packing up to head to a new college. Because of all this, Sheet Pan Hawaiian Pineapple Tacos is our go-to meal. We also have a Sunday tradition of pizza, in any form. We’ve made these and love them (and the kids love the fact that they are bite size)

5. What’s on the Blog
This Friday Fab Five, of course! I wanted to try and reach out to you all, to share recipes, colors, media and get your weekend off to a great start! I had a blast putting it together and we’ll see you next week with another Friday Fab Five.
Have the best weekend!

Love all of this Barb!!
Especially:
“There’s no crying in baseball!!”

Tom Hanks at his finest! I truly love that movie. “EVELYN!” lol
