This week has brought a lot of changes to our home. My two youngest headed back to school, I know. I ugly cried. Hard. I am not the mom that rejoices on the first day of school, I am the mom that worries. I did manage to plan out the flavors that will be gracing the pages of this blog this year, and there are SOOO many delicious things coming. I am so excited to pack this blog full off all the yumminess I can dream up.

1. Color
The colors that we have been posing on Instagram this week are among my favorites for bright sunny palettes. Here are the line up of colors we used to make these amazing colors:
- Lemon Yellow
- Pumpkin, Orange
- Burnt Orange, Peach, Sienna
- Super Red, Maroon, Electric Pink, Chili Pepper, Royal Blue
- Burgundy

2. Comfort Food
I’ve been thinking of things I want to share, and part of the fun of this Friday Fab Five is being able to share things that are more personal to me that what I do on IG or anywhere else on the blog. This week I’ve had some pretty hard adulting to do. Do you turn to food when you are stressed out? I sure do. I want to disconnect from the world, put on some Tori Amos and bake a few of my favorite comforts. This was particularly hard this week because I’ve been back to working on my health and fitness (more on this later) so what I made this week let’s keep between you and me and out of my dietitian’s email. lol.
The first is this amazing Peach pie. I talked about this in the live with Michelle’s Macarons, did you watch that on Monday? It has a streusel and lattice top. I also love to bake the extra pie crust pieces with cinnamon sugar, so really its two comforts in one.
Next is Peanut Butter cookies. Now, jury is still out if this is considered unhealthy. lol, I mean, peanut butter is basically one of the 5 food groups, right? As I was growing up ny mom made the best peanut butter cookies, calling them “Christmas Kiss Cookies.” I just leave off the Hershey’s kisses in months that aren’t December.
Last is homemade donuts. I have the dough ready tonight to fry these bad boys tomorrow. Yes, they sit in the fridge overnight. Don’t worry, I’ll work extra hard in the gym tomorrow to make up for it, promise.

3. If I could run away…
Don’t worry, I am not going anywhere, but if I could run away today, these are the top three places for some Rest and Relaxation. It should probably be no surprise in where I picked, tell me where you would go if you just needed a week away?
First, NEW YORK. It’s where I was born (did you know that)? It’s always felt like home and the sound of the subway and city streets brings a calm to me that I can’t describe. I always go “home” in the Fall, and this year will be no different. I love all months, but especially November. The leaves have turned, the crisp morning walks on the High Line with a treat from Chelsey market or jumping on the blue line to grab pizza on the Brooklyn side of the bridge…Just typing this makes me wish I was there.
Next, PARK CITY. Another place I go every in autumn. My family and I will be there in October and I cannot wait. Just 30 minutes outside of SLC, we watch the future Olympians practice ski jumps at Olympic park, walk downtown, buy socks at the sock store or ride the alpine slides on the last day before they close for the season. Just spending time with my family truly fills my cup.
Last, the BEACH. I love any beach but really missing eating tacos at The Taco Stand in Southern California with our dear friends, the Smiths. Walking the beach picking up sand dollars with my youngest daughter before everyone else is awake, and listening to the crashing waves of the ocean. I love Mission Beach especially. We ride bikes to the pier, eat delicious pastries and pizza and disconnect from the world.

4. Songs for your AirPods
This week I took it back to old school tunes that I replayed over and over on my single cassette from The Warehouse (remember that store?). Now you can conviently download them, but back In the day I had to bribe my brothers to drive me down and with the $1.69 I had saved, I would buy the single of whatever was popular on the radio. Don’t believe me? Google it! Here are a list of songs that are a blast from my past, and probably yours.
- Tear in your Hand – Tori Amos
- Yellow Ledbetter – Pearl Jam
- Baby’s Got Sauce – G Love and the Special Sauce
- What I Got – Sublime

5. What’s on the Blog
